Some Days

Some days, I’m pretty good. Thank to my happy pills and the amount of “quality time” I’ve spent in the mental health care system, usually I do okay.

Then there are days like yesterday.

In an hour, I was called a thoughtless bitch (not in so many words, but essentially), a terrible mother, and a deadbeat (who, apparently, was no longer covered by the insurance we’ve used for the past 10 years). Unfortunately, that was after I wrote a post about how good things were getting, and how I was feeling a little better about myself. As I told somebody last night, my tiny bit of self-esteem was gone in an hour. Right now, I’m still working on salvaging what I can.

So – if anyone would like the password (or passwords – I might be putting up pictures sometime soon), check the page marked “What’s the Password?”, send your email to the addy listed, and I’ll get back to you when I can.

Just a couple of quick housekeeping things:

I’ve changed the blogroll a little. It looked really weird in the new template, so I made it a page instead of as a separate widget. Eventually I’ll put everybody in that I have in my feedreader (and then you’ll be sorry). If there’s anybody I should have on there, or if by some chance I’ve missed you, let me know.
As soon as I can figure out how to lock/password protect some of the galleries, and not all the galleries, I’ll be putting up more pictures, including a couple of family ones.
Speaking of pictures, I need to pry myself away from the ‘puter and head up to the big cemetery in town while the roses are still blooming. Have a good Friday.

…I put up a new template today. Nothing wrong with the old one, but I was feeling the need for a change. This one also allows the newfangled threaded comment thing, so that should make reading conversations easier/less confusing. Maybe.

Just Added Something I May Regret

Even though we are adoptive parents, and even though we have an ongoing relationship with some members of School Girl’s family of origin, I don’t write that much about adoption. For some reason, I lost my mind this morning and signed up for Heather‘s new blogring. If my story can serve as an example to others – hey, even a bad example can be helpful, you know – it’ll be worth it in the long run.

Yep, that’s right – Terry Pratchett, the author of the Discworld series (among many other books), was made a knight yesterday. Very, very well deserved.
