Earthquake

Yesterday afternoon, a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti. Its epicenter was 10 miles south of the capitol, Port-au-Prince.

Haiti is the poorest country in the Americas. The buildings are, to put it politely, ill-equipped to handle earthquakes at all, let alone one as huge as yesterday’s.

If you can spare any money at all, please donate to Doctors Without Borders (the US donations link is here). They do incredible, desperately-needed work all over the world; this is a story about how they’re coping with the loss of their hospital in Port-au-Prince.
