All Hail to our Robot Overlords

I for one welcome them. Especially since little attention-challenged me can’t seem to remember a) what books we have due at the library and b) have yet to bring any of them in on time. Thank the heavens for grace periods…

I think Geek Dad has saved me. We here at Chez Evil will be forever grateful to their mention of Renewbot. Yes, it costs $3USD a year, but you get a free 2-month trial membership; supposedly they’ll just cancel it if it’s either not working out for you or you forget to pay. I’m eager to see how well/whether or not it works out. If it does, 3 bucks seems like a small price to pay.

Plus School Girl thinks the robot is cute. So that’s that. Thank you, robot overlords, for saving me from more fines and/or having to keep track of those teensy little pieces of paper that the library calls a “receipt”.

It might be worth checking if your library offers this service, especially if you set up your account a long time ago. Our library sends me an automatic email when my books are due. I’d be lost without those emails.

They do – or at least they did. It’s been quite a while since I’ve gotten an email from the library; I suspect the person in charge of maintaining things (like databases, etc.) was let go from the county, thanks to our recent budget cuts. Our more wealthy/stingy neighbors decided in November that if they didn’t need a library, I didn’t need one either. :/

When I signed up, nobody asked for a CC # or another method of payment, so I’m willing to see whether or not this works as promised.
