Happy what? Well…happy whatever. We had a happy Winter Solstice yesterday, despite the fact that all 3 football teams we currently follow lost yesterday. In one case, they lost BIG. And this week, we’ll most likely have a happy/merry Christmas and New Year’s.
There’s a lot going on in the world, from the plane that caught on fire Saturday night at DIA to Obama’s determination to bless those who not only curse him, but curse his most staunch supporters as well; but right now, School Girl is awake so I need to get going. Except for two things…
First, the plane crash wasn’t as benign as it was originally made out to be. True, nobody died. However, as of this morning, two people are still in critical condition at one of our largest area hospitals; one had a pretty serious head injury, the other may have had a heart attack (she had reportedly complained of shortness of breath and chest pains at the time). Makes me eager to get on a plane, yes it does…
Second, the whole “we must have a religious service as a part of the transition of our secular government” thing has me a little unhappy to begin with (and I felt that way when I was religious as well); but honestly, was there nobody else Obama could have chosen? A sexist homophobe who has likened gay marriage proponents to proponents of incest and pedophilia? That’s the only guy? Yes, the choice was probably made for him, but I have no doubt that he has personally approved each and every choice associated with the inauguration. I’m also concerned that this is the direction Obama’s administration is going to go; trying to make everybody happy, whether they agree with you or not. Unfortunately, the old saying is all too true – when you try to make everybody happy, you don’t make anyone happy. Including yourself.
Happy, happy holidays. Off to make breakfast and sugar cookies.

The politicians of either side will always pander to the tiny group that makes the most noise. Except if it’s on the left. I’d just like to know when the homophobes and bloodthirsty warmongers and such get to start their 12-step pariah program before being allowed to sit at the table with the adults. At least the Broncos lost.
Sadly, I can’t argue with you on that last thing – the Broncos deserved to lose. *sob* Evil Dad’s still depressed about the Panthers game last night, too.
I just don’t get it. At all. I don’t mind the choice of Rev. Joseph Lowery, the minister he’s got lined up for the benediction, but why couldn’t he do both?
Been thinking of some other things I could say about Rev. Warren, but they just seemed too mean.
Trust me, sweety… nothing you could say about that bloated, bloviating, bigoted pussbag would be ‘too mean’. The more i read about him, the more i wish that plane had crashed into the Saddleback Church on a Sunday morning.
*ugh*
Have a Happy Winter Holiday Assortment Pack this week… *tight hugs, because i love you*
Purely based on his looks, well…I have friends who are leather bears, and the comparison would just be mean.
I’m so fscking sick of hearing how “normal” and “tolerant” he is for an evangelical. I’d say Rev. Lowery would consider himself an evangelical minister, and the guy appears to be a positive tower compared to that guy.
*tight hugs* You and your family have a happy, too! Love you guys.
Warren looks like he’d be at home cruising a leather/bear bar… i’ve even had a couple of my bear buddies comment as such, wondering when the pix of him in a ball-gag were going to finally surface. *L*
Hahahaha! That image and “Blackadder’s Xmas Carol” have just brightened up my whole day! Thank you! *big hugs*
