Bettie Page died yesterday from a heart attack at the age of 85.
Her pinup pictures were incredibly beautiful, at least to Evil Dad and me. I wish I had something else, something more insightful, to say – except that we’ll miss her.

We’ve lost two of our icons this year… Vampira, and now Bettie. *sigh*
and we have to suffer with Jennifer Anniston and such…
I know that she’d been ill a few weeks ago, but it was still a big, unwelcome shock. *sigh*
I was very sorry to hear about this and very sad that it was only in the geeky stuff that I read that her dead was even noted. I loved her photos as well.
Even in some of the…weirder photos, she just radiated joy and happiness. At least I thought so – I really liked seeing that.
In Seattle, she’s immortalized in a mural on someone’s house.
It makes for quite the sight from I-5
Wow! I’m guessing that would make for a lot of rear-end collisions – hard to keep your eyes away.
I don’t know about physical collisions, but it sure has caused psychic ones.
The guy’s mural-side neighbors are a Mormon church. Heh.
Oh, no.
I’m sure he’s gotten more than an earful from them. Yikes.
