My Favorite Get Out and Vote Letter

Over the past month or so, I’ve been getting a lot of political emails. And by “a lot”, I mean at least 3 or 4 emails on a slow day. Of the 8 political emails I got this morning, this one is my very, very favorite. Mostly because it was unexpected and graceful:

Next Tuesday we will elect the next President of the United States. The result will have great consequences for the nation.

This election offers a choice is between two men with dramatically different visions of the future. We have strong feelings about this choice. But we feel even more strongly that all Americans, regardless of political preference, have a stake in the outcome and should vote in this critical election.

This is likely to be a close election. Your vote matters. Please use it and make a difference.

Sincerely,
Trent Reznor

Well, you heard the man. If you haven’t voted yet, prepare to go tomorrow. Good luck to all of us, no matter what our politics.

Which makes me want to break out Johnny Cash’s version of Hurt this morning.

Thanks for sharing. It’s really the most important political “advice” out there right now: get out and vote.

AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FIRE LEVIES! ;)

You know, I think I like Johnny Cash’s version better than the original!

AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FIRE LEVIES! ;)

You bet! We don’t have any to vote on this year, but it’s incredibly important.

I’m glad we all appreciate that amazing Johnny Cash version of Hurt;) It is amazing.

Good message too, I give props to Trent for lending his name to the cause in such a productive way.

It’s probably the most dignified email I’ve gotten so far this campaign season – I was really impressed.
