It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Happy October! Oh, how we love October here. The leaves changing color – well, okay, the tree in the front yard has almost all of its leaves off, but still – the Halloween stuff in the stores, rushing around to finish up yet another costume because my daughter absolutely believes that I can make anything…Oh, yeah. Good times.
There might be some posts about monster movies in the next few days, and some stuff about Halloween, and some whining about costuming in general. For today, I’d like to point you in the direction of Wil Wheaton’s blog and the adorable clip he put up from Mad Monster Party. This and The Nightmare Before Christmas have been our mainstays for Halloween, along with It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!. I don’t really think of the last two as being Halloween movies, as we watch them year-round. But we all love Mad Monster Party. It’s so cute, in a weird, campy, 1960-ish sort of way.

We own the Peanuts holiday DVDs. BB asked to be Charlie Brown for Halloween. Heh.
The only other Peanuts we have is Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown – which I’ve always loved and we watch year-round too.

Aww! You should post a picture – that sounds too cute!
This really is the best month of the year for so many reasons.
Yep. I love fall, and September doesn’t really count as fall here most years. Plus hockey season starts soon.
This isn’t your anniversary month, is it?
It sucks that the first games (the overseas ones on Saturday) are on Versus. You guys don’t get that, do you? I wish ESPN would grab the NHL back. Bastards. Um, anniversary for what, blogging? I think I started in June or something like that.
They are? We do get Versus, at least for now. I’ve had better luck watching games either on FoxSportsNet or NHL. I can’t believe that ESPN has no games at all anymore. *sob*
Usually I think of wedding anniversaries, but I guess not…
