Well

Well. I wish we were well.

The latest round of colds has found School Girl with more than a cold. We finally went to the doctor this morning, as her cough hasn’t been getting any better. No fever, but the ped thinks it’s a respiratory infection. She said she didn’t think it was pneumonia, as the gurgling sounds were only in one lung, so she gave us antibiotics and sent us home.

The bad news? I just got off the phone with M. She and her mom are coming up to the graduation ceremony. Assuming School Girl is well enough in the morning to go. On the other hand, she’s now bouncing all over the walls this afternoon, so anything could happen tomorrow. We’ll see…

It’s a tough time of year to be sick. I caught pertussis (whooping cough!) from a student a few years ago — in June!! What timing.

We’ve been fighting off some nasty respiratory crud on several fronts ourselves… Hope you were able to make it to graduation.

Daisy: Yikes! I remember some of my mom’s family (roughly 5 kids worth) that all had pertussis at the same time. Very ugly. It did get me to vaccinate my daughter, though…

Protected Static: Eep! Hope you guys are feeling better soon. It’s amazing what a little bit of adrenaline can do, though. We made it through graduation, sort of…
