I subscribe to a lot more blogs than are on my blogroll. In fact, I subscribe to several blogs from Iraq. One of them, Riverbend, hasn’t updated since late last October. It’s not unusual, considering the circumstances, to have big, big gaps between blog postings. But it does make you wonder whenever it happens.
Today I got some very sad news in my newsreader. The man who wrote BlogIraq, Ahmed, died April 11, 2008. He was to meet with someone in Baghdad while trying to get his own family out of the country and to safety. BlogIraq leaves behind a wife and 20-month-old daughter.
And sometimes…one doesn’t even have a final posting. It just stops. Just as it does for so many families, Iraqi and American and British.
